Training Drills for Law  Enforcement

Self-Protection training for Police Officers, Special Guards, Bodyguards, Security Guards and Security Bodies. Our Law Enforcement Force Continuum Program is designed to help Police and Law Enforcement Officers master Anti-Terrorism Techniques, Weapon Disarming Techniques, Takedown Techniques, Arresting Techniques, Submissions and more. Our Law Enforcement Programs cover every Level of the Force Continuum. Basic Verbal Jeet Kune Do, to Level I Control Tactics, to Level II Defensive Tactics attacks up to, Exigent Circumstances (Life or Death) Level III Combatives, are all presented in systematic, straight forward, no nonsense fashion. Based upon the best techniques culled from the Navy Seal - Elite Special Forces (Progressive Fighting System - Rapid Assault Tactics) and Israeli Defense Forces (Israeli Krav Maga) and has been scaled to meet the needs of local Law Enforcement utilizing Proven Pressure Tested Techniques

INTRODUCTION TO LEO CONTROL TACTICS

The Law Enforcement Officer’s job is to Enforce the Laws of the Land. "To serve and protect." While a Soldier has the right to kill under their Rules of Engagement, a Civilian should protect only himself if necessary and a Third Party / VIP Protection Officer cares only about protecting his clients life; a Law Enforcement Officer serves to protect the People and the Law.

Our emphasis is on Simple Movements. By utilizing the body’s Natural Instincts and reflexes in a “fight or flight” situation, and transforming it into an Effective Self-Defense Technique, the need to “memorize” techniques is eliminated. Our instructors incorporate realistic reenactments, teaching students how to opterate Under the Stress of an Actual Confrontation.

Force Continuum training increases self-confidence and mental preparedness and allows people of all ages and fitness levels to achieve a relatively High Level of Proficiency, awareness, and abilities within a relatively Short Period of Time. Our Force Continuum emphasis on training methods and drills also creates opportunities to focus and work Under High Stress Situations.

RAPID ASSAULT TACTICS

The PFS/RAT (Rapid Assault Tactics) is an official hand-to-hand combat system for the Navy Seals. Progressive Fighting Systems is an extremely effective Street Fighting System that includes components for both Self-Preservation and Self-Perfection within a Mixed Martial Art Matrix. We have adapted this system to meet the needs of Law Enforcement.

Progressive Fighting Systems was founded by world renowned martial artist Sifu Paul Vunak in the mid 1980's centers around Contemporary Jeet Kune Do and Kali. Bruce Lee's JKD serves as the foundation for PFS which has been Street Evolved to include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing. This system was developed by Navy SEAL Combat Instructor, Sifu Paul Vunak can turn anyone into a Potent Hand-to-Hand Fighter in a Short Period of Time. PFS has been utilized by the US Navy SEALs, DEA, CIA, FBI, and countless Police Agencies throughout the world.

KRAV MAGA

Krav Maga has been adopted as the official Hand-to-Hand Combat System of the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces). It's also the preferred system for U.S. Military, FBI, CIA and Law Enforcement agencies and proven to be extremely effective. It is one of the most comprehensive & realistic Self-Defense Systems in the world today.

Krav Maga was originally developed as military combat training for the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) to be the most powerful and efficient military martial arts system in the world. The Krav Maga system has received international recognition as an innovative and highly Practical Defensive Tactics System ideally suited for Law Enforcement.

Our LECT / LEDT & LEC are flexible tools, that can be modified to fit each situation. In democratic countries a Law Enforcement Personnel is presented with that he must protect the law and its civilians, but he must also use an appropriate Use of Force. Scaling Use of Force classifies violence into levels of magnitude of Appropriate Force:

  1. Highest Level III: Combatives

    • Firearms, Termination Techniques

  2. Moderate Level II: Defensive Tactics

    • Stun Gun, Baton, Tear Spray

  3. Lowest Level I: Control Tactics

    • Empty-Handed Combat-Tactics

  4. Basic - Verbal De-escalation

    • Presence, Posture & Voice Control

The law does not permit the Law Enforcement Officer to harm civilians (without justification). For instance, when arresting a person and his spouse is angry or frustrated and is trying to resist her husband’s arrest, the law enforcement officers cannot use Excessive Force. Law Enforcement Officers are equipped with specific tools and weapons, our Law Enforcement teaches them how to maximize the efficiency of these tools to fulfill their mission in the best way possible. I.e. learn how to use handcuffs efficiently; learn how to use your pistol as a cold weapon, when you don’t want or you cannot fire.

Force Continuum Program Students are taught the Ranges of Combat and how to easily flow from each range. Emphasizing the “Ranges of Combat.” Students are taught to confidently and with ease “Combat Flow” from Three Ranges:

Long Distance: Defang the Snake Range

  • Projectile Weapons Range - Gun

  • Blunt Weapons Range - Stick

  • Edged Weapons Range - Knife

Middle Distance: Sumbrada Range

  • Kicking Range

  • Hand Range

Close Quarter: Hubud Range

  • Close Quarter Trapping Range

  • Clinch Grappling Range

  • Grappling or Ground Fighting Range

The proper Use of Weapons utilizing Offense, Counter Offense and Recounter Offense are taught in an easy to remember and efficient Method of Application. We teach Gun Disarms and the Proper Use and Handling of Firearms. Movement is universal no one single style or system has it all.

Students learn what works in a particular situation, against a particular opponent, and when another technique or series of techniques would be more practical and effective. Developed for “Mass Attack” (Multiple Opponents training to deal with Three Opponents) as well as Single Opponent confrontations, the training heightens student’s "Situational Awareness" of their surroundings and teaches them to use their environment as tools / "Weapons of Opportunity" of combat. Everyday Objects, such as Umbrellas, Books, Bandannas, etc., become effective means of Self-Defense in the hands of a properly trained individual. Use of left and right hand techniques develop ambidextrous coordination.

Drills and techniques taught in a fluid, nonrestrictive manner allow students to enhance their natural attributes and improve their sense of timing, speed, awareness, balance, agility, and confidence.

We provide Law Enforcement seminars in a group setting or will train Military, Law Enforcement, or Security Personnel on a one-on-one basis. Our Law Enforcement Program provides the trainee with techniques for controlling your opponent, rather than killing him or retreating without harm. According to many Law Enforcement Organizations and Instructors who have undergone Force Continuum training they prefer to teach our Force Continuum Program to their Law Enforcement agencies, because it grants their trainees the four the most important characteristics of any LEO program providing the ability to;

  • Perform Under Stress: unique, reality-based training is designed to improve the officer's emotional and physical response to danger. These methods develop the ability to Recognize Danger at the earliest stages, React Without Hesitation, and Escalate & De-Escalate with the Appropriate Level(s) of Force. Create the ability to Operate Under Stress. Our program allows the Law Enforcement Officer to continue operating even under extremely unusual and complicated situations (like our Rapid Assault Tactics for Military).

  • Scale Use-of-Force: enables officers to deal with the most violent offenders they encounter, while remaining acutely aware of Reasonable Use-of-Force and Civil Liability issues facing Law Enforcement. Granting the Law Enforcement Officer tools for Using Force as Necessary that allows him to complete his mission (control, search, escort, arrest).

  • Retention: Because the system is based upon Common Principles and Natural/Instinctive Movements, officers Retain Techniques with Minimal Review and Practice. Training in a Short Period of Time – in accordance with the fast recruiting process.

  • Practical: emphasizes effectiveness and simplicity. This Street Evolved Fighting System provides realistic defenses against a variety of aggressive attacks, whether the assailant is armed or unarmed. The ability to Modifying the Techniques to fit each country’s set of laws or the Individual Officers needs.

Specially designed program for law enforcement, security, police & military officers and agents. The tactics of this program are taught to escort an aggressive hostile subject that is not cooperating in or out of a squad car, prison cell or resistance to hand cuffing. Its particulars are Locks, Restraints from Small Circle Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as Come Alongs from Dumog, which is a Filipino Grappling, dealing with natural choke points on the human body.

Law enforcement is a very dangerous field. Even a security guard faces risks normal citizens will not. One minute you can walk on the street or filing paperwork, and the next minute you could be facing an aggressor(s) carrying knives, blunt weapons, or guns. These situations are never fully anticipated. It can feel chaotic. What are you supposed to do? Fortunately, we have training tactics designed to help you understand and respond to these situations.

One positive aspect of our modern Defensive Tactics training is the concept and use of Police Use of Force Continuum. Due to this concept we have divided our techniques into 3 Levels:

  1. Level I: If they are not imposing any physical harm / threat on you, but they are not cooperating - maybe they are drunk, cantankerous, not going into the police car or into their cell, etcetera.

  2. Level II: If someone throws a punch or kick at you, but you are not afraid for your life; you need to Defend yourself, so we employ techniques that are not excessively brutal but they do enough damage to stop the attack.

  3. Level III: If you are in a serious situation, you are worried for your life! We will train you in the methods you need to come out on top!

Our Contemporary Jeet Kune Do (Filthy MMA) and Israeli Krav Maga Curriculum is modified to fit the need of Law Enforcement (LEO). In our Law Enforcement-Training Curriculum you will learn such topics as:

PROGRAM CURRICULUM

ANALYZING USE OF FORCE separates the use of force into six categories. Situational recognition of these levels helps determine proper force response to that situation. This includes exercises which show officers how to use the continuum for report writing and courtroom testimony.

CONTROL TACTICS is an instructor development block on how to teach attack management and subject control. Concepts include long-term memory retention, biomechanical control principles, relative positioning, and motor skills employment.

HANDCUFFING A recent study showed that 67% of all resisting arrests came after the first handcuff was applied. Tactical speed handcuffing provides immediate subject control and reduces risk to an officer.

PRESSURE POINT CONTROL TACTICS provide maximum control with minimum effort. As little as 2 pounds of finger touch pressure is needed. Highly effective no matter what the strength of the officer.

JOINT LOCKS give the ability to maintain control over subjects who were cooperative, but then become uncooperative. The control can then be evolved into a transport or handcuffing position

DEFENSIVE TACTICS teach reflexive reaction to a physical attack when impact weapons or firearms are not appropriate. Officers learn to neutralize an aggressive assault with a system of blocks, punches, and kicks.

VASCULAR NECK RESTRAINT

The Lateral Vascular Neck Restraint System offers officers an alternative to the use of deadly force. This is the only medically researched and approved neck restraint system in use today. This system has been adapted for ground fighting and is easily learned and retained.

IMPACT WEAPON COMBATIVES

Utilizing the Straight Baton. This effective system employs the use of nerve motor points. This decreases the potential of creating connective tissue damage and bone fractures, thereby decreasing liability.

PERFORMING UNDER STRESS. Training methods unique  to the Krav Maga  system  provide realitybased training  designed to  improve the officer’s  emotional and  physical response  to danger.  These training methods develop  the ability to  recognize danger  at the earliest stages, react without hesitation, complete the  defense as  trained, function  under states  of exhaustion and  while one's attention is divided, to develop  a  fighting  spirit and  a never quit  attitude, and to  escalate and  de-escalate within  the appropriate level(s) of force. The  core emphasis of Krav Maga  is on  effectiveness,  simplicity and  realism. Training methods are  emphasized  so  that in  a time  of need, officers will  be  able to function  and  survive a violent confrontation.

  • Training Methods to Improve Awareness, Vision,  Identification and Recognition of  Specific Dangers/Threats; Improving Reaction Time and Aggressiveness: “Going from  a Passive State  to State of Action without Hesitation”

    • Multiple  attacker  scenarios

    • Movement through a  crowd

    • Stress, Resistance and making decisions under pressure

    • Training drills based  on over-coming resistance, bursting through obstacles to neutralize a threat.
