Jeet Kune Do & FMA
FIGHT RHYTHM JKD
The Stand-Up Guys Fighting Method is the stand-up striking, interception, and trapping program at Cali Combat Systems — built on 30+ years of training and direct lineage from Bruce Lee through Guro Dan Inosanto to Sifu Paul Vunak. We teach three complete lineages of the art simultaneously: Original Jeet Kune Do (Chinatown JKD) as preserved by Sifu Tim Tackett and his lineage, with foundational elements from the lineages of Jerry Poteet and Ted Wong; Contemporary JKD through Progressive Fighting Systems including Rapid Assault Tactics (RAT) and Military Edged Weapons — the same system trained by US Navy SEAL Team 6; and the Jun Fan JKD Grappling Association curriculum of Sifu Larry Hartsell, transmitted through Sifu John Doty. The program covers Jun Fan Kickboxing, Wing Chun sensitivity and trapping, Panantukan (Filipino Dirty Boxing), Savate, Muay Thai, the Five Ways of Attack, and the complete RAT formula: Entry, Forward Pressure, Termination. Sifu Jeramiah is a PFS/DOM Full Instructor certified directly by Sifu Paul Vunak and served as Vunak's assistant instructor from 2018 through 2022, teaching his IPTPs as Vunak's health required it. This is not a recreation of the curriculum. This is the curriculum.
The Jeet Kune Do taught at Cali Combat Systems is drawn from the instructors under whom Sifu Jeramiah Giehl has trained directly — including Guro Dan Inosanto, Sifu Paul Vunak, Sifu Tim Tackett, and Sifu Shahram Moosavi — among many others.

Israeli Krav Maga
FIRST2FIGHT COMBATIVES
First to Fight Israeli Krav Maga is
Retzev is the Hebrew word for continuous motion — the principle at the heart of Israeli Krav Maga that describes a relentless, forward-pressure offensive response that does not pause, does not hesitate, and does not stop until the threat is neutralized. First 2 Fight Retzev Combatives is not defensive arts. It is offensive combatives. The program integrates Israeli Krav Maga as its tactical backbone — drawing from five distinct Krav Maga lineages including Krav Maga Worldwide (Darren Levine, certified by Imi Lichtenfeld), HAGANAH (Mike Lee Kanarek), ATA/TAC Krav Maga (Grand Master Daniel Longoria), the Krav Maga Federation of America (Master Alain Cohen, 5th Dan, Wingate Institute — the official IDF Krav Maga certification body), and Warrior Krav Maga (Master Anthony Landgren) — alongside the offensive tools of JKD, the weapons intelligence of Kali, Guro Daniel Sullivan's Panantukan Dirty Boxing, the Guro Burton Richardson For The Street Series (MMA, BJJ, Silat, Knife, and Gun Defense for the Street), and Sifu Paul Vunak's Rapid Assault Tactics, Street Safe, and ETGS (Escape To Gain Safety) programs. The curriculum covers self-defense from holds, grabs, chokes, and bear hugs through knife threats, knife attacks, gun threats, gun disarms, multiple attacker scenarios, ground survival, and specialized Active Shooter Response training certified by DHS-EMI, FEMA, FBI, OSHA, and CERT Academy 39 (San Diego Fire Department). Sifu Jeramiah received specialized training in Defense Against Attacks in Tubular Environments from Master Alain Cohen and Darren Levine — covering aircraft, buses, trains, hallways, and hostage scenarios.

Madjapahit Silat
KALI-SILAT MOTION
Kali-Silat Motion is the Southeast Asian Martial Arts (SEAMA) program at Cali Combat Systems — a comprehensive, lineage-grounded curriculum integrating the full spectrum of Filipino and Indonesian combat systems. This is not a sport program. It is not a cultural performance. It is a complete weapons-to-empty-hands fighting system taught by a full contact stick fighter who has trained directly under Guro Dan Inosanto at the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts. The Filipino Arts covered include Inosanto-LaCoste Kali, Pekiti Tirsia Kali, Regino Ilustrisimo, Lameco Eskrima, and DFA Kali-KunTao — across all three impact ranges (Largo, Medio, Corto) and all weapon families: single stick, double stick, knife, espada y daga (stick and dagger), long pole, and improvised weapons. The Indonesian and Malay arts covered include Maphilindo Silat, Harimau Silat (the Tiger system of West Sumatra), and KunTao Silat — the Chinese-Indonesian synthesis of explosive striking and Silat off-balancing. The program also integrates Panantukan (Filipino Dirty Boxing), Muay Thai through Ajarn Daniel Sullivan and Ajarn Roger Luri, Muay Boran, and Bando. Weapons are trained from day one. The OCR Game Plan — Offense, Counter, Recounter — and the COMBAT formula unify all arts into a single Combat Flow. Guro Jeramiah is a certified DFA Kali-KunTao Silat Affiliate Instructor and full contact stick fighter who competed from 2013 through 2023.

"When you're talking about Fighting, as it is, with No Rules, well then, baby You'd Better Train Every Part of Your Body!" - Bruce Lee

JUN FAN JKD GRAPPLING
INTEGRATED GROUND FIGHTING SYSTEM
Founded by the late Sifu Larry Hartsell — one of Bruce Lee's original personal students and a lifelong grappling student of Gene LeBell and Gokor Chivichyan — Integrated Ground Fighting Systems is the submission grappling and Combat JuJitsu program at Cali Combat Systems. It is a no-holds-barred, reality-based ground fighting curriculum integrating Judo, Russian Sambo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling, Japanese Shooto, Filipino Dumog, Indonesian Silat, and Catch-as-Catch-Can Wrestling into a unified system built for the street, not the sport tournament. The program covers the complete ground fighting spectrum: stand-up clinch and pummeling, takedowns and throws, the full positional hierarchy (guard, mount, side control, back mount, knee mount, north-south), sweeps and reversals, the complete submission game (chokes, armlocks, leg locks, and Catch Wrestling cervical cranks), Filipino Dumog off-balancing and clinch entries, Harimau Silat floor-level survival, and KinaMutai — Sifu Paul Vunak's asymmetrical grappling system of biting, eye attacks, and pressure point attacks that closes the gap between sport grappling and what actually happens in a street fight. Sifu Jeramiah Giehl holds an Associate Level Instructor certification in the Jun Fan JKD Grappling Association under Sifu John Doty (JFJKDGA lineage: Bruce Lee → Sifu Larry Hartsell → Sifu John Doty, Sensei David Tice → Sensei Jeramiah Giehl), 1st Dan Black Belts in Shorinji Ryu JuJitsu and Combat JuJitsu under Sensei David Tice (Black Belt under Gokor Chivichyan and Gene LeBell), a Level 5 Professional Grappler certification, and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Barry Jenkins Sr. (Carlos Gracie → Carlson Gracie → Renato Taverez → Todd Lawrence → Barry Jenkins → Jeramiah Giehl).

The grappling taught at Cali Combat Systems is drawn from the instructors under whom Sensei Jeramiah Giehl has trained directly — including Sensei David Tice, Sifu Paul Vunak, Sifu John Doty, Professor Barry Jenkins Sr., Guro Burton Richardson, Professor Shahram Moosavi, Michael Stinson, and Grand Master Pat Burleson — among many others.
